Centerport United Methodist Church

Beginning 2018, we will no longer be using numbered offering envelopes.  We will have generic envelopes (for anyone who would like to use them) in the pews or you can stop by the office to pick up what you feel you need.

With the advent of online giving, automatic donations that members set up through their bank, and credit card usage, and that we generate statements based on name, this will cut down on costs and the time the tellers spend on Sundays counting.

We ask that…

> if you make a donation by CHECK including bank generated checks, please write on the memo line what it is for (offering, food council, altar flowers, etc.) so that the tellers will know where to account for it and that it gets correctly recorded on your statement and in our financial records.  If there is no information on the memo line, we will have to assume that it is for your offering. Please feel free to use an envelope.

> If you make a donation by CASH, please use one of the generic envelopes and write on the envelope...your name and what it is for (offering, food council, altar flowers, etc.) that the tellers will know where to account for it and that it gets correctly recorded on your statement and in our financial records.

Offering Envelopes can be found in the office and in the pew backs.

If you have any questions, please see Connie Kozlowski.

We are in need of a few more tellers/subs to help count the receipts on Sunday morning once a month. You do not need any financial background, just 20 minutes or so after service to prepare a sheet and deposit slip. You will be paired with someone who has experience and Dan Intemann, our Financial Secretary will show you the ropes. If you would be interested or want to find out more, please contact Dan Intemann.

If you haven’t sent in your commitment cards yet, please prayerfully consider doing so as soon as possible.

These commitments greatly assist us in continuing and expanding CUMC’s 2018 programs, which are so beloved by our members, friends, community, and the world.  As we look to grow our ministries and our reach into the world, your commitment is so vitally important.   We hope to increase our investment in education and programs for the community that will help us make and deepen disciples for the transformation of the world.

Could you help us to answer God’s call to Do Justice, to Love Kindness, and Walk humbly with our God by returning your Commitment Cards?

Thank you so much for your commitment to our church.  We are very excited to see what God has in store for us in 2018!

Commitment cards can be found on the table in the hallway.
