the table in the hallway. If you don’t see a set and
would like one, please call the church office. If you
give electronically, you don’t need a set, as it ers self-improvement programs and United Methodist Voluntary Services community advocacy projects. Your gifts on Human Relations Day will support an outreach program of Theressa Hoover United Methodist Church in Little Rock, Ark. The church sponsors a residential and out-patient program for men and women with addictions. Graduates of the program participate in an eight-week course that provides training for unemployed or underemployed people. The offering also supports Exodus House, a ministry in Oklahoma that helps former prisoners to receive the emotional, spiritual and physical support they need to make it on their own. Please give generously on Human Relations Day. Thank you!

The Joy of Music

Our very own church band, Leap of Faith, has CD’s available.  Suggested donation is $10.  It truly is a joy to hear!  See Ron DiCesare, Christine Jordan, or Philip Jordan to pick up one.

Sanctifying Grace

This is a reminder that the annual "Have a Heart Brunch" will be held on Sunday,  February 26 from 12:30 to 2:30.  The event is sponsored by the Ecumenical Lay Council (ELC) as their main fellowship opportunity for all member churches and their congregants to enjoy an informal brunch together and honor their support of the Food Pantry in Northport. The donation is $25 per person and each church has been asked to fill a table of 8 if possible.

We at CUMC very much hope to reserve at least one table to show our continued support of the ELC and its activities throughout the year including the food pantry, sponsor a family program, providing volunteers to help at the pantry and the annual shoe collection drive.

The First Presbyterian Church is located at 330 Main Street in Northport with convenient parking at the church.  The event has always provided joy and fun to the attendees and we hope that it will continue to do so with participants from CUMC.

Please contact Frank Lehmann with any questions.

It’s kind of like a small finger food party with family.  Just a few snacks, coffee, tea, and lemonade. See or contact  Cathy McGoldrick.

Come to Wesley Hall 45 minutes  early to set up, bring milk and a snack (store bought is fine) and stay to clean up.  If you recruit the help of a friend, is it even more fun!!!   There is a "Coffee" sign-up sheet in the Narthex.

Detailed "coffee hour hosting" instructions are typed up and laminated and posted inside one of the cabinets in Wesley Hall. Barbara Roiland is ready and willing to help you learn all the "ins and outs" of hosting.  The mysteries of the kitchen will finally be unveiled!!

College Care Program - If you have a college student, please email their current physical address at school and their most used email address to the church office.  We use these addresses to keep in touch with them while they are at college (even if they are home and commute) through our College Care Program.  This program is headed up by Lynn Murphy, so you can speak with her if you have any questions.  Monetary donations are accepted for this program at any time - it helps to defray the cost of the items we send them, as well as the cost of shipping.
Progressive Dinner
Mark your calendars for for Saturday, April for our annual Progressive Dinner. More details to follow on this fun-filled evening of fellowship.

Every year on Super Bowl Sunday, our MYF collect cans of soup and monetary donations after service that they then donate to our local food pantries – check out Souper Bowl of Caring online ( to learn more about this program.  At the end of service they’ll be holding big soup pots where you can place your donations – cans and monetary!  Remember 100% of your donation goes directly to our local food pantries to help our neighbors.

Let’s help them serve our neighbors!

The 2017 offering envelopes are now available on the table in the hallway.  Stop by next time you are here at CUMC.  If you do not see a set for you, just let us know and we’ll get you one.  Remember that if you give electronically, you do not need envelopes.
